Religious man likes boys
There is a well known middle aged religious person who teaches and preaches to others about the sins of the world and points out what is right and wrong in our society. Ironically, this same guy has reportedly been seen preying on young men by wining and dining them.

This pervert shows his true colors when he gets tipsy and proceeds to flirt with his young companions. This guy definitely deserves to either be flogged by the boys' parents or struck by lightning by God himself.

City Council Hopefuls
Since the present administration will have three vacant slots for city councilors some names have already been surfacing. Reports have it that Dr. Borres is being courted to replace Councilor Rojas and that Jun Gerong will take over from his son. Meanwhile supporters of board member Cesar Rey are said to be lobbying for him for a slot in the city council ticket as well.

Assistant Acts Like the Boss
There are talks in the city about an assistant of a national agency chief here who acts and assumes the job of his boss whenever he can get away with it. His boss who is out of town most of the time is ignorant of his assistant's activities, and when charges are brought against him before the Office of the Ombudsman for his assistant's acts he will probably claim "ignorance" for his defense.

What's in the Name?
I have always been fascinated by the exotic names of the towns and barangays in Southern Leyte. Unfortunately many of them have been changed at the behest of influential church leaders. Hence barangay Pacu became Asuncion, and Bantig bacame San Rafael, and Caniwan is now Guadalupe.

Even the names of some towns were changed. Cabalian is now San Juan, Himatagon became Saint Bernard, and Tamolayag is now Padre Burgos. Changing a town's name requires an Executive Order from MalacaƱang but what about barangays? If all the names of our towns and villages were replaced with the names of saints they would lose their identities and become common places.

Let's Support City PNP
Now that we have a police chief who really means business the city council should support him completely. For starters it could provide
his three patrol cars with enough gasoline to patrol our streets with so they won't have to clear traffic for motorcades just for a full tank of fuel. They also need a good lawyer who will defend them when they are charged in court for doing their job.

Divert City Port Funds
Since everyone knows the PPA managed seaport in Maasin is badly located, seldom used, and dangerous during stormy weather. Why is the government through the PPA squandering P20 million to fortify its crumbling foundation which will need constant repair. Why not just divert the funds to the Caniwan seaport instead?

Doctor-Botica Connection Hit
During our interview with IPHO Director, Doctor Jose Lito Trumata, he complained about the unholy alliance between Doctors and Pharmacies near the provincial hospital. He said he would urge the Provincial Government to pass an ordinance prohibiting the establishment of botica's around the new provincial hospital being built in Dongoon. And would suggest a one kilometer " botica free zone" in the vicinity of the hospital so that the hospital's own pharmacy, which would sell cheaper generic medicine, could earn money.

Absentee Head of Office
There are reports about the chief of a national field agency here who allegedly spends more time in Tacloban than behind his desk. And that his frequent absences have hampered the office's efficiency and have cost unnecessary expenses for clients who come to his office from faraway places like Pintuyan and Silago. As a third class province our leaders should demand the best that our line agencies have to offer. Do you know that some of these VIPs don't even pay courtesy calls on our political leaders when they are assigned here? We are being used as a dumping ground for mediocre line agency personnel and we are letting them getaway with it. The Civil Service Commssion office here should look into this matter Asap.

Miners Courting Our Politicians?
There are alarming reports that our politicians in mineral rich towns are being courted by mining executives with offers they will finance their 2013 campaigns in exchange for their endorsement of their mining exploration requests and mining permit afterwards. Our sources claim the mining companies are focusing on Panaon Island and Pacific towns and that some of the local chief executives there are coddling them.

Egg Heads
A recent report from the Department of Agriculture's Regional Office in Tacloban about Eastern Visayas having to import eggs from Cebu is a sad testament to the ineffectiveness of EV's Regional Development Council. Because if we cannot produce enough eggs for our peopl, it also means, we do not have enough chicken which we also have to import from elsewhere. How pathetic.
