PIZZA BONANZA!

Il Mediterranean Pizza

The Il Mediterranean Pizza is owned by brothers Charles, Herman and Enrico Balaba who started their pizza business last December. As former chiefs on international cruise ships the brothers wanted to share their expertise in making international pizzas to all food loving Maasinhons & Macrohanons.

Il Mediterranean

Charles said he learned cooking from working in the restaurant of a world class cruise ship and this is what Il Mediterranean exclusively offers which the other pizzarias dont have, international quality & taste. The Il Mediterranean offers not only great pizza but also other specialties like pastas and other Italian dishes.

In terms of value and taste their mouthwatering specialty “Luciana Pizza” makes you feel like your cruising the Mediterranean...its very delicious! The Il Mediterranean Pizza is located at Purok Caimito, Barangay Asuncion, Maasin City. Call or text them at cellphone number 09286893486.

PRIAMS Pizza

The Priams Pizza Parlor is owned by Siblings Rose Mil and Porf Salidaga and they recently opened for business last April 24 2010. After finishing cooking school in Cebu, Rose Mil thought of putting up a pizza parlor in Maasin City. Her brother Porf knowing his sister was a good cook and had good business sense agreed to join her in the venture.

Priams Pizza

The big difference between Priams Pizza and the others in Maasin is that they put more meat toppings, bellpepper and cheeses and their thin crust is divine. Priams also sells hamburgers, fruit and milk shakes and local pasalubongs like sortidos and salvaro.

In terms of pizza’s flavor and quality, Priams is probably one of the best if not the best pizza joint in town Priams Pizza is located at Captain Iyano Street, Tunga-tunga, Maasin City. You can call them at telephone number 570-8202.

Valentines Day Celebrated

The most romantic day of the year is Valentines Day. Whether you are single, or in a relationship, there is always something to do and hopefully someone to do it with.

These two places celebrated last hearts day with style.

Superchow: With its legendary outdoor garden ambiance Superchow is one of the best restaurants in Southern Leyte where you can have a romantic dinner with your special someone and also enjoy good food. Last Valentines Day Superchow treated its patrons with a “Eat All You Can” dinner for only P150. The dinner included Chicken and Pork dishes, Bam-i, Exquisite Dessert and Fruits. To further enhance the valentine diner a organ musician played all time hits and love music.

Kinamot sa Abgao & Pugaling: The combination between dinner and a valentine concert has definitely tickled the romantic bones of those who went to the Kinamot restaurants in Abgao and Pugaling as it offered lovebirds a night to remember. Kinamot sa Abgao had a live band and offers a valentines dinner which included fried spareribs with chilli garlic, lumpiang shanghai, chicken with honey lemon sauce, stir fried squid, desserts with bottomless nestea. PLACES YOU MUST SEE

CANIGAO ISLAND - If others want to go through the hassle of vacationing in the crowded and filty beach resorts in Cebu and Boracay island, they are welcome to do so. But hereabouts we have our Canigao Island in neighboring Matalom town which is only 20 minutes from Maasin City that is far more beautiful and pristine.

The island’s only significant man made structure is its lighthouse for the is land itself is an uninhabited marine sanctuary. Canigao has a one kilometer white sand beach teeming with colorful tropical fish and a live coral reef which almost surrounds it. These features have attracted domestic and foreign tourists who scuba dive and snorkel there.

PINTUYAN TOWN - One of the remotest barangays in Southern Leyte Barangay Son-ok, Pintuyan town has become a favorite feeding and mating ground of Whale Sharks; the largest but friendliest fish on earth. These giants of the sea are harmless and are no threat to the thousands of tourists who dive and swim with them at Sun-ok.

Whale sharks can weigh over nine tons (18,000 pounds) and grow up to 12 meters (30 feet) long. They can dive to depths of up to 130 meters (260 feet), and feed only on tiny planktons which they filter through an intricate systemof sieves inside their mouth.

These gentile creatures are usually seen during the early hours of the morning and late afternoons, but diving with whale sharks at Barangay Sun-ok can be enjoyed anytime of the day.
