Drug arrests, road accident
& one Swertres runner

A Maasin City police team led by newly appointed Police Chief Hector Flores Enage and Police Inspector Jay Cinco Balderian arrested Remie Estor Delima alias “Aregoy and Jordan Robert Montaos Baro both third year high school student of the Maasin Vocational High School for selling marijuana. The suspects were caught during a buy-bust-operation while in possession of two grams of suspected marijuana seeds and 16 sticks of suspected marijuana cigarettes. Both suspects are now detained at the city jail pending the test results of the confiscated items at the drug testing center in Tacloban city.

A police source here claim the PNP tightens its illegal drug activities during January so they have something significant to report about come February which is “drug consciousness month.”

In a related development the Libagon Police will file a criminal case of attempted murder against Danilo Ayungao who his complainant Marionito La Modoc claimed tried to kill him. Police will file the case against the suspect as soon as the complainant returns from Davao.

Meanwhile in Pintuyan town a 56 year old retired police man was injured when a motorcycle with three teenagers abroad rammed into his sedan while negotiating a curve in Barangay Punod. Felipe Castañares who sustained minor injuries claimed the motorcyclists who were too young to drive were traveling at high speed when the accident happened. Police suspect the youngsters had too much to drink.

Police sources claim they have also heightened their campaign against illegal gambling in the province and last week they arrested a Swertres runner in Barangay Panaiaron, Hinunangan. They said they found in his possession the usual gambling paraphernalia and 350 pesos.
