Serial Rapist Caught

BARANGAY MARIA ASUNCION, SAINT BERNARD – In a lightning quick operation, elements of the Philippine National Police arrested a serial rapist here who they claim was among the “most wanted” men in Southern Leyte.

Regional police spokesman Police Senior Supt Elizar Egloso said that police officers of the Municipality of Saint Bernard arrested Ariel Valis alias “Ayot” last November 29 after  a massive manhunt.

Valis is accused of raping two young women here. The suspect who was caught by surprise surrendered without a fight. Valis who is only 24 years old and works as a part time laborer was arrested on the strength of a warrant issued by Judge Altone Miralles of the Regional Trial Court’s Branch 26 of San Juan, Southern Leyte.

Valis was immediately brought to the Saint Bernard Municipal Police Station and charged with rape. (By WOWIE REYES)
