WE NEED AN AGGRESSIVE POPULATION CONTROL PROGRAM

TACLOBAN CITY - The Philippine population which is expected to reach 97.6 million this year needs a quick solution if the country wants to move forward.

According energy expert Dr. Rico Cruz the cash doleout program of the government for poor families was useless and just a bandaide solution with short term benefits.

He said "We simply cannot solve the people's poverty unlesswe embark on an aggressive population control program. And this is why we must all support the Resposible Health Bill now being debated in Congress. Our politicians should stop listening to church leaders and think more about their welfare, their community, and their country.

He claimed "that countries in Europe and China have tremendous economies mainly because they control their population growth rate.

Cruz who was chosen as one of the Outstanding Southern Leytenos in 2010 currently manages the Laboratory and Biological Service program of the Department of Science and Engineering of the Umatilla Indian Reservation in Oregon, USA.
