Water supply enough to get through dry season

March 25 - 31, 2017

MAASIN CITY – The Maasin Water District (MWD) has assured the public that there would be enough potable water for the city amidst the coming dry season.

“Based on statistics, so far the water supply is adequate to cater to the needs of our concessionaires for water consumption,” according to MWD head Nestor Geraldo.

He pointed out that the water levels, actual evaporation and possible water shortage during the peak of El Nino were seriously considered and carefully studied.

Even with the MWD’s assurance, Geraldo called on the public to conserve water as often as necessary to prevent a shortage in the city’s water supply. This summer, weak water pressure is expected in certain areas, especially during peak hours.

“Prior notice will be disseminated to all our concessionaires in case there is a need for water scheduling,” Geraldo assured.(By MARK L. RIMAS)
