Tome replaces Enage

CRIMINALS BEWARE NEW POLICE CHIEF MEANS BUSINESS

MAMBAJAO, MAASIN CITY - Its now official, colonel Rico Lacayan Tome, better known as "Robo Cop" for his no nonsense strict implementation of the law will become the city's new Police Chief this month.

In an exclusive interview with Southern Leyte Times Publisher Antonio Reyes at SLT's Editorial Office in Barangay Mambajao, the controversial former Chief of the province's PNP Mobile Patrol Unit which terrorised criminals elements in Sogod, Panaon Island and the Pacific Towns said his immediate priority was to get an accurate appraisal of the peace and order situation in the city.

The colonel was visibly surprised to learn that the killers of the 72 year old relative of Vice Governor Maamo in Barangay Tawid 14 months ago were still free and terrorizing residents of that community.

He said he would also be meeting the 70 barangay captains of the city since they were the front liners of law enforcement and crime prevention in the country.

They know practically everyone in their area of responsibilty, who the trouble makers were, and were aware of the presence of strangers in their community.

Colonel Tome who made SLT front page headlines by arresting a former Provincial Governor of Southern Leyte for illegal logging was also active in the province's campaign against drug lords in the Sogod Bay and pacific town area.
