Taiwan to invest in Region 8
 

 

 

 

SOGOD - Several Taiwanese companies want to invest money in Eastern Visayas in the shipbuilding, steel manufacturing, fish culture, Mining and energy development industries.
The investment pledges valued at almost $38 million were made during the visit of a trade mission from Eastern Visayas to Taiwan

According to DTI Information Officer Lemuel Montes, the Taiwan companies which pledged to invest here would arrive sometime in February or March this year.

He said they would visit Southern Leyte, the Leyte Industrial Development Estate in Isabel and Eastern Samar. Among the potential taiwanese investors are Min Hwei ventures ,Kaohsiung Shipbuilding company, Bun Tung limited and Laurel Wreath Tec Trading.

Kaoshiung pledged to invest $30 million while the rest pledged to invest about $8 million. (DTI press release)
