Silago women get aid from DOLE

SILAGO, SOUTHERN LEYTE– The Department of Labor and Employment (Dole) in the region has released P256,720 fund assistance under its Integrated Livelihood Program for a high value vegetable production project in Silago. The project will benefit 26 women members of the Puntana Women’s Nature Club Association of Silago town.

Turnover of the livelihood assistance was held last week at the Silago Municipal Auditorium led by Dole Regional Director Forter Puguon. The event was attended by labor Secretary Rosalinda Dimapilis-Baldoz, DOLE Southern Leyte provincial director Fe Silago women get P256,000 aid from DOLE

Norma Valuis, Vice Mayor Pacita Almine, Municipal Councilors and the members of PWNCA led by its president Melba Lucero. The project is expected to produce high-valued ampalaya, eggplant, tomatoes, melon, okra and sweet pepper. Under the agreement the municipality will cover 20 percent of the project’s cost as its counterpart and will be responsible for monitoring the project to ensure its sustainability.
