Sarah Dampog Tops SP Attendance

MAASIN CITY – Southern Leyte Provincial Board Member Sarah Dampog attended the most number of SP meeting in 2011. One of only three female provincial legislators she missed only two of the 54 board meetings. Dampog who represents the Councilors League of Southern Leyte was elected councilor of Macrohon town in the 2010 elections.

Coming in a close second was former Hinunangan Mayor and now Board Member Roberto Lagumbay of the province’s second district who attended 49 sessions.

The third highest with 46 attendances was board member Abelardo Almario of the second district.

Board members Albert Esclamado and Daisy Gamale were tied with 45 attendances each.

Board member Cesar Rey who is on his third term attended 44 meetings while Nacional Mercado representing the Liga ng mga Barangays was present in 41 board meetings.

Board member Florentino Fernandez Jr. attended 39 meetings, Board members Teopisto Rojas, Jr. and Janine Petracorta were both present during 38 sessions while Board Member Felicula Escaño appeared for 36.

The provincial board which is headed by Vice-Governor Miguel Maamo is mandated by law to pass ordinances, approve resolutions and appropriate funds for the general welfare of the people.(By: MARK RIMAS)
