Rey Labao Captures WBO Super Featherweight Crown in China

Super featherweight contender Rey Labao of Philippines captured the WBO super featherweight crown last night in Yinchuan, China via 2nd round TKO victory over Michael Sigarlaki of Indonesia, WBO Vice-President Leon Panoncillo has informed.

The 25-year-old Labao, from Liloan, Southern Leyte, notched his 18th win in 20 fights in an impressive fashion. The end came at 2:28 of the second round.

Labao fought for the same title, which was vacant at that time, in July last year against Jesus Muzaka of Thailand in Naga City, Cebu but lost by unanimous decision. The title was left vacant again when Muzaka lost to Czar Amonsot last October. (By Dong Secuya PhilBoxing.com)
