Ramos will not run for city mayor

MAASIN CITY - Here's good news for City Mayor Maloney Samaco and the other candidates for city mayor in 2013; Lt. General Bonifacio Ramos will not campaign for city mayor in the coming 2013 local elections.

This was confirmed by his wife Evelyn Markines Ramos who is here visiting relatives with their daughter Tanya.

She said her husband, who now spends most of his time in Chicago, is taking a post graduate course there and has not mentioned any political plans to her or anyone in their family.

We asked Mrs. Ramos about it because of reports from city hall sources that he may campaign for the city's top post, and that if he did, he would be the strongest candidate to beat.

In an exclusive interview with the Southern Leyte Times his daughter Tanya said she would advise her father to invest his money for a
more worthy course.

She also said that spending 2 million dollars, or 80 million pesos, is a waste of money.

Tanya Markines Ramos who is a medical doctor is planning to establish a health clinic here in the future which would provide free medical services for the poor was surprised to learn that candidates here had to buy votes to ensure their victory. (By ANTHONY KINGS)
