RGM wants Bayani as VP

Moves are under way to strengthen the Lakas-Kampi-CMD presidential ticket with former Defense secretary Gilberto Teodoro being paired with Bayani Fernando the former chairman of the Metro Manila Development Authority.

Representative Roger Mercado the Lakas Kampi CMD vice president for the Visayas and several governors headed by Aurelio Umali of Nueva Ecija are leading the move to strengthen the party’s presidential team’s chances of winning. Mercado says his heart is for Fernando and is only awaiting marching orders from party officials to give the order.

A number of governors have also thrown their support for Fernando even without the official party’s imprimatur.

The list includes Governors Sally Lee of Sorsogon and Jade Ecleo of Dinagat island. Many original party members are openly supporting Fernando who was outmaneuvered in the selection process by party officials of Kampi who backed the Gibo Teodoro-Edu Manzano ticket.
