Provincial Library to get “facelift”

February 24 - March 3, 2017

After many decades of service to the public, the Provincial Library will finally get a “facelift” and be restored to cater to a younger and more information-connected community.

The National Historical Commission of the Philippines (NHCP) recently announced that it is proposing to allocate P20 million for the library building’s restorationproject that will include major structural repairs and on-site preparation.

Library Officer-in-Charge Florida Galos said she is positive and hopeful that more people and tourists will now come and visit after the restoration of the provincial information center.

Galos also thanked the NHCP for the long-time, dream-come-true project for the library.

The project is expected to start its restoration this coming April or May, and the ground floor is set to be the new provincial museum.(By MARK L. RIMAS)
