Mayor’s men choose him for award

Maasin City officials led by City Planning Officer Othello Rich have unanimously choosen Mayor Maloney Samaco for the World Health Organization’s Urban Health Championship award.

The global movement aims to make cities healthier in preparation for World Health Day on April 7, 2010. The campaign calls upon cities worldwide to open up portions of streets to the people to promote health activities for one day during that week. Samaco was nominated for his 13-point program of governance, his campaign against drugs and anti-smoking initiative. (By MARK RIMAS)
