“Ganda Pulis” visits So. Leyte

April 22 - 28, 2017

CAMP ALFREDO BANTUG – Instead of a gun, a lady police officer walked with a crown and a bouquet of flowers during her visit in Maasin City police station and Camp Alfredo Bantug provincial police headquarters last Wednesday afternoon.

Police Officer 1 Arla Ray Paciencia, who represented Eastern Visayas during the agency’s nationwide search for Miss Philippine National Police, or dubbed as "Ganda Pulis”, won the beauty pageant last March 28 at Camp Crame, Quezon City.

Her visit in the province was her way of giving thanks for the support she got from the Southern Leyte Provincial Police Office in preparation and during the pageant.

Provincial Director Warren De Leon in an SLT interview said Paciencia’s win does not only prove that Region 8 people are beautiful and intelligent but also manifest that they can surpass the talent of others nationwide, in beauty contests and in other fields.

Ganda Pulis, or roughly translated as "beautiful police," is a pageant organized by the PNP Community Relations Group. It aims to empower beauty through advocacy.(By MARK L. RIMAS)
