ENGINEER VELOSO TWITS CRITICS

MAASIN CITY – We have been informed by District Engineer Carlos Veloso that allegations made by a certain Samuel Palaganas and a concerned Maasinhon claiming that the Tuburan Bridge now under construction would be the same size as the old bridge was totally false.

Engineer Veloso also provided SLT this sketch which shows that the new bridge would be one meter wider (on each side) than the old bridge.

Veloso added that the new structure would also have a "safety sidewalk" on each side measuring 0.80 meters so pedestrians can cross the bridge safely.

He said the Tuburan and Combado bridge should be completed on or before June 30, 2012.(By MARK RIMAS)
