E.V. 12th in Palarong Pambansa

April 29 - May 5, 2017

Antique Province - The 60th edition of the Palarong Pambansa, scheduled from April 23 to 29 saw Eastern Visayas improve its ranking to 12th place.

The 7-day sporting event, which includes regular sports, demonstration sports and para-sports, saw Region-8 grab 23 medals which include 7 gold medals, 4 silver medals, and 12 bronze medals in the regular sports.

Eastern Visayas though didn’t do as good in demonstration sports and parasports as no medals were awarded to the young regional athletes.

Around 10,000 student-athletes and sports officials are attending the annual sporting event where younghletes from 18 regions prove their mettle in 22 events.

The 2017 Palarong Pambansa’s theme is "Converges Youth Power, Builds Sustainable Future."(By MARK L. RIMAS)
