Dead body found on Liloan beach

April 15 - 21, 2017

LILOAN – Police authorities were baffled on the identity of a female cadaver found along the shoreline of barangay Old Catig, Liloan, Southern Leyte last April 6, Thursday afternoon.

According to the municipal police investigator, the dead body was discovered by Patricio Sajol, who claimed that the body was washed ashore in their village’s coastline because of the strong waves.

Based on the report, the cadaver was already bloated in its early stage of decomposition, and the facial appearance was already beyond recognition.

According to the police investigating team, the cadaver was more or less 39 to 40 years old and 4’8” to 4’9” in height, wearing a stripe (red, white and blue) sleeve less and blue/orange short pants.

During the post mortem examination that was conducted by Dr. Elija Redulla of Liloan Community Hospital, the victim was possibly choked to death because of the injury on her neck (Linear Hematoma Bath Lateral Neck), which Redulla believes was the possible cause of death.

The remains was hurriedly buried at the Liloan new civil cemetery through the recommendation of the town’s health officers because of the possible health hazards to the community.(By MARK L. RIMAS)
