Comelec launches mission impossible

Last Tuesday the City Comelec Chief Erman Gelsano launched the agency’s “operation clean-up” in a vain attempt to rid the city of illegally posted campaign materials.

The operation which initially covered Barangays Pacu and Mambajao was ineffective however because the posters were quickly re-posted and the areas they cleaned-up were as badly vandalized as before. This wanton act of vandalism was repeated in the towns of Bontoc and Sogod.

One irate Asuncion resident whose new wall was completely covered by campaign advertisement, told SLT he would boycott the coming election, since all the candidates were obviously law breakers. When asked if he was serious about his threat he said “my word is as strong as a bamboo tree.” (By ANGIE BOOK)
