Bamboo causes power outages

December 17 - 23, 2016

Due to the onslaught of heavy rains these recent days, the Ormoc to Maasin transmission lines were hit by two bamboo poles that caused the sudden power interruptions last December 17, Saturday, around 10 am and 3:30 pm, according to the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP).

The NGCP restored the power line on the same day and urged the public to bear with them for the inconvenience.

Meanwhile, another unscheduled power interruption was experienced in parts of the province last December 20 due to the emergency correction of the Nasaug-San Isidro line affecting some parts of SOLECO’s franchise area.(By MARK L. RIMAS)
