Avoid posting on-time vacation photos

April 8 - 14, 2017

CAMP ALFREDO BANTUG – Going out of town for the Holy Week? You might want to think twice before posting your vacation photos on any social media application.

Philippine National Police (PNP) Provincial Director Police Senior Superintendent Warren De Leon is urging vacationers to avoid posting vacation photos in real-time.

The social media posts will inform criminal elements that your home is susceptible to break-ins. Common crimes during Holy Week are theft and robbery, according to the police czar.

Special patrols and "force mutipliers" will be activated to make sure the houses left behind by vacationers won't be left vulnerable to criminals.

The provincial police chief revealed to SLT safety tips for those Southern Leyteños vacationing this Holy Week:

1. Do NOT post your whereabouts in social media;

2. Ask neighbors to watch over your house if no one will be left at home;

3. If travelling by land, check BLOWBAGETS (Battery, Light, Oil, Water, Brake, Air, Gasoline, Engine, Tire and Self).
