145 M for infra projects okayed

MAASIN CITY – The Southern Leyte Engineering District is expected to receive P145 Million for its public works projects in 2012.

According to the Department of Budget and Management’s head office in Manila it was Malacañang’s reaction to growing foreign and local financial banking institutions calls for more government  investment in infrastructure projects to help the economy and minimize unemployment in the country.

District Engineer Carlos Veloso said that the entire amount of P 145,432,000 is expected to be released this January.

The amount will be spent for major infrastructure projects like the new Subang Daku bridge in Sogod, San Ricardo-Bil-atan road, Maasin City’s Tomas Oppus national road and repairs of the Maharlika Highway. (By Mark Rimas)
